Key Features

Print

Printing is a process for mass reproducing text and images using a master form or template.

Data

Data are units of information, usually numeric, that are collected through observation.

Phones

Phone is short for telephone, meaning the instrument used to call others.

What exactly is Fibre Internet?

The fibre is made of a very thin glass or plastic wire capable of conducting light. This allows data to be transmitted very quickly from one point to another over long distances and without loss of speed.

This technology is used in transcontinental submarine cables. They serve as the backbone of the global Internet network. It is also used by companies to develop their medium- or long-distance networks and by private individuals.

Basic characteristics of Fibre

The fiber uses the principle of light refraction. It is made up of a silica core that confines the light energy and propagates the signal. This core is covered by a sheath with a low refractive index. The light wave is then enclosed in the silica.

The cladding favors the propagation of the signal. A protective coating protects the fiber. The light wave transmitted through the core is generally emitted by a laser diode. This is what allows the fiber optic network to have a very low weakening of the signal through time and distanc.

4 categories of fibre networks

There are 4 categories of networks that match with the type of connection:

  • FTTH (Fiber To The Home) – The customer is connected to the network by a fibre pulled between the optical connection node and the inside of his room.
  • FTTLA (Fiber To The Last Amplifier) – Here, the fibre stops at an optical node. The data is carried by coaxial cable.
  • FTTB (Fiber To The Building) and FTTC (Fiber To The Cabinet) – In these two cases, the optical fibre does not go to the room. The data is then transmitted via the telephone network.

Benefits of the Fibre Internet

One of the advantages of fibre internet is that it carries data over very long distances with virtually no signal loss. This allows the development of new areas of application such as:

  • Teleworking
  • Telemedicine
  • Home automation

Fiber optics offers the best value for money by offering a high-performance solution for an economical package. Gain in productivity, and enjoy reliable and high-performance packages.

Improved bandwidth

The bandwidth of the fibre allows the optimization of the users’ time. It is no longer necessary to wait endlessly for the desired downloads. Regardless of the number of files, they can be accessed quickly.

Besides, people in the same household can make simultaneous use of the network. And this without any constraint linked to the sharing of bandwidth! Ultra High Definition and 3D television is available to all users who wish to enjoy it.

The different types of Fibre

There are 2 types of fibre. Each has its own characteristics that determine a specific function.Multi-mode type fibres are preferred for short distances for lower data rates. Its operation allows the transport of several light paths. This has a direct impact on the performance of the fibre. Single-mode fibers have a single propagation channel which allows a higher throughput.

Internet of Things (IoT)

The IoT large satellite product is a data source that allows companies to access real-time monitoring data. It is particularly important for public authorities. This solution also allows data to be collected from many sources for backhaul type uses.
